BEAUTY REPORT: Issue 4

4 REASONS WHY: YOU NEED AN EYE CREAM HONEY..YEA YOU

WHAT 'S IT FOR?

Ok, so contrary to what you may believe eye creams are not just for your mom or grand- mom. An excellent eye- cream is one way to take your skincare routine to the next level, and it's simple to do. Eye creams have  the ability to

  • Reverse or prevent aging ( fine line & wrinkles) around the eyes
  • Eliminate dark circles
  • Wake- up tired looking eyes
  • Hydrate dehydrated skin around the eye

The science behind most eye- creams is that, they have to contain ingredients that protect the delicate skin around the eye. Because this skin is fragile it's more prone to dryness, quicker to show fatigue and aging. The constant movement of the eye area, exposure to the sun, and the fluid that collects under the eye ( causing puffiness) eye creams address these concerns. If you are going outside and exposed to the elements we suggest an eye cream...and stat

 WHEN DO I NEED IT?

We highly recommend using an eye cream in your early 20's.. why not? Some would argue that at this age what exactly are you battling, your skin is perfect. Well not exactly, during this time we find ourselves hanging out all in the sun's exposure, sometimes very late nights and let's not mention the diet of pizza and chips. All of these are good reason's to get in the habit of taking care of yourself. Don't wait until you have concerns to fix, routine is the best prevention. Starting early gets you used to using products at night and in the morning, and truly beautifying yourself by taking care. Not just washing your face at night ( just the thought.. yea we know cringe).

WHEN TO USE IT?

Depends on what your eye cream is made of. Certain creams target specific things and the ingredients dictate just when it's best to use, so follow your directions given exactly on the packaging. Heavier products that contain rich moisturizers usually are for use before bed, to give time for the product to soak in. Eye creams that contain ceramides or hyalauronic acids that are known to plump the skin we would use those for both day and night. This benefit can be an added bonus in the morning, when eyes look tired. We love a good light eye cream for the day that has a gel consistency that absorbs fast. This normally works well before makeup prep and won't cause makeup to separate. Save a more potent eye cream for night that addresses more serious concerns or heavy duty prevention def use at night.

AND LASTLY WHY DO YOU NEED AN EYE CREAM....?

  1. Because you just do,
  2. Anything you take special care of will yield positive results. Rather your hair, nails, body, health/ diet, your eyes and skin are no different. Be good to those peepers, they work double time everyday and they need love and nourishment.
  3. Signs of aging show up in this area first , so use quality products and get plenty of rest.

Remember the better you take care of your eyes and the skin around it the less makeup you need to conceal. It's the same with foundation, the better condition your skin is in the less foundation you need to use to hide/ cover imperfections.
